View Full Version : Transparency problem

I have a scene I render (see picture below), the white part you see is actually a white half sphere object with all shadows turned off, not seen by rays and so on so it get 100% white, I do that to hide some parts of the scene, it is much easier compared to remodel the ground and some other objects, now, I want the white part to be transparent in the final image (it will be part of a comic book page), is there any way to do that ?

I could do it in post of course but it's tricky to select all of the white as the tree's are blurred by DOF, it would be more fun to do it LW if possible.

Go to Surface Editor,
Advanced tab on sphere surface,
Alpha Channel > Constant Value 255.
And render to PNG32 f.e.

Ah, it was that easy (but not constant 255, zero for transparent), thanks, I was thinking wrong, I thought that if I would set the alpha channel to transparent the objects behind would affect it, but it's only the alpha channel, the surface itself is not transparent of course, silly me.

many thanks
