Hi Guys

I was wondering if anyone knew of a process or plugin that can do the following: (See the 3rd disk from the image below)

127808

For instance on the disk seen in the image above, I used Poly Divide which creates it into quads, But is there a way or a plugin that exists that will Cut it up into a grid of quads and triangles (like the 3rd disk shown in the image) so you can use the magnet or bend tool on etc.

I tried the following:

- Connect tool but it doesn't cut through edges (I really think it should, it would make doing stuff like this a lot easier)
- Native Knife tool but it doesn't snap to points so almost impossible to do so
- LWBrush Knive tool again it doesn't snap to points so makes it almost impossible to do so

The only thing that did work was the following:

- LWCAD Knife tool works well becasue it snaps to points but is very time consuming process

Also I remember seeing a plugin that for example with the square showin in the image above, It fills in the middle part with quads just by selecting a ring of points or edges. Do you know what that plugin is called?

Thanks
Jason

CSlice might help you with #1.

Puttygon for #2? I've seen something that does what you're asking, can't remember the name though.

You could just make curves of your open sides and then use the native Patch command.

Thanks Ernest, Ill have to check those out aswell.

JoePoe, That's it, I couldn't remember what it was called. That was exactly what I was looking for.

I was trying to duplicate what they were doing in the 901 modo sneak peak video at time 24sec and 1:25sec mark https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkNNvemdXBI. Which from what I see now
is basically untangle or Circlify and Quadskin Patch. Nothing really revoultionary that you can't already do in modeler.

Thanks again
Jason

Unfortunately, as you noted in the "modo 901" thread, Circlify isn't working with either LW11.6.x or LW2015.x.

Regular patching should work. Make four curves out of the outside points. Patch. There's some stretching, where the center quads are larger than the perimeter ones, but it might work for your purposes.

EasySplit http://easysplit.trueart.eu
that you have, change mode to Line,
and adjust Tolerance (RMB) to slightly less than distance between points.
Then draw line from beginning to end, and cut will be made between them.
