Dear Friends:

I was watching the James Bond movie 'die another day' and really liked the shot of the Icarus satellite in space.
I wonder, was this shot made with lightwave 3d ?

did a little research for you...if you havenīt seen it.

Effects by Cinesite...
http://www.cinesite.com/

Seems it was partly a physical model and the front part cgi, guess you have to look out for these guys who modeled and animated it and what they work with...wich I canīt get any info on.
Mathias larserud..a fellow swedish countryman, now in new zealand it seems, not sure what he is working with..probably maya and max.

excerpt....
"An 18-foot model of the rear two thirds of the Icarus was filmed using motion control at Pinewood Studios, supervised by Cinesite Motion Control Supervisor Mike Talarico (Mission to Mars, Inspector Gadget, Armageddon, etc.) with Motion Control Cameras' Ian Menzies as motion control operator. Cinesite's Matthias Larserud and Jon Neill modeled and animated the front third of the satellite,"

Thanks for taking the time to get me the article link.
I loved very much, the shot when Bond surfs thru the water and icebergs.
