anyone have any input on the best way to model this or if there is a better package to do furniture. i do it quite often and find the tufting to be the hardest part.127184

you can do this is in any package, lightwave would be easy enough to do.. The tufting is not that difficult, here is something I did rather quickly 5 minutes?

yeah, i've done pillows, pads and other things with tufting like that or tufting that's very simple, but this banquette is so complex i thought there might be an easier way.

Well the diagonal folds may me a bit more work, but the overall approach IMHO stays the same.
Do ONE section and array to get a big group AND THEN bend and add thickness.

There are also the wonderful new LW Brush plugins..... one of which can throw in wrinkles in a heartbeat.

Make it as a straight stuffed piece, then bend it.

that sounds like a good plan. i hate clients that need to see stuff i already have photos of.

well, i'm by no means a power modeler, but finished product didn't come out too bad.
