Hello

Would it be best to buy a 2nd 23" 1920x1080 monitor or would it be better to have a 27" 2560x1440 monitor?

I have a chance to buy a Asus PB278Q for a cheaper price because the store says that Asus is stopping production of them and the store only has the floor model left.
Is it ok to buy a floor model for the monitor? Dont know how long its been out and on, the store manager said maybe it has been on for 8 hours a day for a couple of months or more.

Or would buying a 2nd 1920x1080 monitor be better?

I personally don't buy display models since you don't know how long it may have been on [used] and the salesperson could be NOT telling you the whole truth about the item in question.

If it's still on display, maybe you can bring some images to test on the device at the store. The monitor probably isn't properly calibrated but having familiar images plus a couple of charts to test with may give you a fair idea of its condition. Just a thought.

I would choose the second option - now my second monitor is used to my second render node, but for the time that I used it to expand the workspace I felt a great convenience - no need to constantly look for something under the rubble of open programs or folders, everything is you can move into the space of a second monitor.
