View Full Version : Modeler: Load Object Layer?

LW Database and google search return zilch for a Modeler plugin to Load a desired layer of a multi-layer object. Is there such a thing and if not, would it be easy to do with Lscript?

Many times I need just one layer out of a 20-30 layer object to use as reference for building or modifying another object. It's just plain overkill to load the entire object, select the desired layer, copy, switch objects, paste, switch back and close the object. I mean, if the Load Object Layer plugin for Layout exists, why not one for Modeler?

Any takers to code this workflow saving script/plug?

Hmmm, apparently Lscript doesn't have layer selection options/commands for loading/opening a LWO file. The only command I could find in the docs is ReplaceObjectLayer() and that's only for Layout. So, this plugin will have to be written in python or C++, neither of which I know (and I barely remember Lscript).
