View Full Version : Baked Voxel Cloud help

Hey all I've baked a voxel to use for a cloud and would love to clone it onto a multipoint cloud object instead of using a single point. Using the .avi file as a clip on a sprite didn't work. any ideas?

It might be simple very simple but I'm missing it.

I've tried instancing, no luck, and I've tried baking as a SpriteGen and no luck, but maybe I'm not doing the proper steps?

instancing...no, do not use any instance tool as you normally use object instancing, that wonīt work.

donīt think it will work so good using sprite clips, either, I canīt recall if I ever tried it the way you are now trying, Iīm busy rendering so canīt check right now.

hereīs a sample I did some time ago, I blurred it a little too much in after effects though, thereīs some description in there..if you choose, show more in the youtube clip..

Hi,
you could use FX Linker (Utilities > Additional > FX Linker) to clone your HV cloud (Null) to the points of a point cloud. But you must make a particle emitter from your point object first (simple emitt from objects vertices).

You can also use any method to clone the HV cloud object too. E.g. "Clone to Polys" ( https://www.lightwave3d.com/assets/plugins/entry/clone-to-polys/ ).
