As a second-wave HardCore member, my last paid upgrade for LW was $495.00, as opposed to $695.00 for everyone else. However, even after I upgraded, I got emails from NewTek offering juicy bundles of LW and other software for, if I remember correctly, $695.00. The emails didn't have a link for people who had already upgraded to get a deal on just the additional software.

Now the upgrade for LW 2015 is $495.00 for everyone. So, should I upgrade now (I'm just a hobbyist) or wait for the juicy bundle?

Also, if there IS a juicy bundle, could NewTek at least scrub the mailing list of anyone who's already upgraded, to avoid "inappropriate" language when the email is opened?

Well there's no harm in waiting if you're on LW 11 right now, the only risk you'll take is if you wait until the next version of LW comes out whatever that is and the price raises again, to keep your $495 pricing, you would have to buy both 2015 and whatever the next version of LW is essentially upgrading twice. I'm in a similar position although I have the $395 pricing so even more reason to upgrade sooner then later if I want to keep my pricing.

There is no indication of another juicy bundle or what it will be, so if LW 2015 has anything you need now I would get it now.

I upgraded from 9.6.1 becuase i felt it was the right thing to do and i felt the need to supprt Newtek (hobbyist too btw) i had the cash so i bought in. It was the right time for me and there have been some decent updates since 9.6 so i pulled the trigger. Now a tasty bundle hmmmmmm............? I could waited but the last one i remember was with Poser and well.....not really for me. Now throw in Zbrush......(3dcoat,or Vue would be nice if i didnt already own a copy) then we may have a deal.

Actually, I believe the last bundle offer was with Octane Render, and it ended shortly before the LW2015 release.

My bad!

No worries, just pointing it out to note there have been bundle offers involving "higher value" packages beyond Poser.

Upgrading as each new point is released has work well for me with lightwave as I get the use of the new features for the longest time. Lightwave cad is the only package deal that I would have to use but already owned it. So do so now and count each day made easier and time saved a few bucks back in the bank. Then add the fun stuff and its all good.
