Taron's old Neckling which is now 10 years+ old (wow...time surely flies) using Zbrush 2.0 (wow) and then newly Messiah Studio 2.

Is nodal the best way to attach morphs and displacement maps where they respond to each other?
Has anyone successfully layered displacements on top of each other?

Sure... for tying displacements to pretty much anything you like nodal is the way to go. The only problem you're faced with, as I was pointing out to Chris in that thread, is getting a "dependable" input driver, rather than something which only works on one pose or some other, or which doesnt take care of overlaps properly. So it's not just about the nodal setup you use, its also influenced by the underlying design and layout of the rig/items/morfs/whatever who's values you're using to drive those displacements.
