Hey there Tiger
I like this but I do have some suggestions for you.
Try using spotlights with shadow maps with say 3 fuzziness and you will get nice soft shadows.
Dirty up or add scratches to the palm. This will help ease that "3d" look.
Add a reflection to the screens. They dont look right at the moment.
Apart from that good work. I like the ground texture..

Hey! Welcome to the NT forums.
An early piece. It will be interesting to see how you come along.
Procedurals and image maps play a massive part in selling your image as being realistic, but also, and more importantly, so does lighting.
Often, you can turn the Ambient Illumination right off.
(Under Lights /Global /Global Illumination).
This way, you can set up a three point lighting scheme. (I hope you don't already know this! :D) With the main light, then a backlight (which is usually very soft) and a fill light, which takes the place of the ambient illumination you turned off.

I hope this isn't confusing! Give the image a bit of a tune-up and post the results for us if you want to. But it's definetely a start, I look forward to seeing more works from you!

Welcome to LW. That's much better than my early work, good job. Just one thing, why is it when I look at it I half expect to see something saying "Mostly Harmless"? :D
