I am wondering who uses IK Booster. Since its beginnings, it has remained an enigma to me. Never seen any documentation on it, and don't know how it works or what it does.

Hi

Ryan Roye is the master at IK Booster. Here is a link to his training over at liberty3d.com. This training is fantastic if you want to get into IK Booster

Hope this helps

I would not be animating in Lightwave were it not for IKBooster.

The documentation in the LW manual is incomplete and inaccurate in places, hence why I made my own documentation here (http://delura.tanadrine.com/IKBooster/IKB_UserManual.html).

If you haven't already seen it, the promo video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqjq3o31Pp0) for my training content outlines pretty nicely what people can do with IKBooster.

I have plans to re-do the IKBooster content as a lot of my rigging-based workflows have changed (same approach, different tools); people who bought into the IKBooster training content will get a substantial discount so they are only paying for the "new" stuff.

Ryan has done a brilliant job with his tutorial series and contributions to the LW community. Hoping to invest soon. Odd how such a seemingly powerful CA toolset was overlooked or misunderstood for so long (apart from Splinegod who always advocated its use in fast productions). I really wish I had the time to learn IK boost and experience its advantages. But conventional animation with RHiggit is an absolute pleasure and makes CA in LW feel close to Maya.

When Larry (miss ya big guy) would do demos at the LA LWUG I'd get all amped up and play at it. I'd usually get mixed results and drop it. Until Larry would demo again, then I'd be fired up again. Larry would be the first to point out that, at the time the was little to no info, other than guys poking around and sharing results. Being on the hobbist end of the scale, I always liked the ease it promised. Armed with Ryan's vids I've been poking at it again.

Something else to note: I've made part 5 (dynamics) of the IKB Comprehensive Guide free because it is made obsolete by the new bullet constraint systems introduced with LW 2015. There are minor advantages IKB dynamics still have over bullet, but I consider them few and far between now. I was actually expecting bullet to phase out IKB dynamics and the other LW dynamics systems, hence I went light on this section anyways.
