Hi everybody!

Would like to say a quick 'hello' to the community in my first post to this forum.

Right now, I am digging thru the documentation and tutorials to get me going in LW.

Everything looks very nice so far.

And I promise that I'll try to give my best to keep dumb questions at minimum ;-)

Regards.

Enjoy this brilliant software! The modelling tools are very flexible and the renderer in Layout is second to none - VPR gives you almost instant feedback. PS if you're into character animation Genoma, included with Lightwave is fast and flexible though check out RHiggit for near unbreakable rigs. Maya is a big part of my own workflow these days due to my job but I always come back to LW as it's just so intuitive, immediate and creative. Any problems the guys on this forum are always generous with their time to help you out :)

Welcome! What's your background in 3D? Complete noob? Coming from another package? Again welcome - it's fun to hang out here.

Hi, am dealing with 3D a since couple of years ... if I would list all packages here it would be a fair long list.

Just to give one example: my first 'stand alone' app for 3D was SGI Cosmo Worlds.

Anybody remembers that or heard of it?

Regards.

I don't think caustics is so bad ... rendered this with the default settings ...
