Dear All

I created an object in freehand and exported it as an EPS file to bring into LightWave, the problem is that when you import it and then try and Extrude the outlined image, it just creates a hollow object with just the outline of the object as solid. Ive tried many things in FreeHand such as filling it, joing it etc but nothing seems to be able to produce a solid 3D model from the EPS file.

Has anyone experienced this problem and have a solution for me?

Thanks

Mark

most eps artwork elements (arcs/lines etc) are imported as 2-point polygons (thin lines) which means when extruded they are thin-walled profiles.

two ways around it:

a) select the points in order (clockwise / anticlockwise) to create a polygon (press the p key) for each of the elements you want to be solid

b) on eps import you have some options, make sure it's on either 'Closed Polygons & Polylines' or 'Closed Polygons'

hope that helps!
