View Full Version : "Make points external to cages..." ??

My organic modeling experience is limited. Very limited. However, I've found that for the stuff I'm making subpatched objects would almost always benefit from having the points be OUTSIDE the subpatch surfaces they create with the cage. (Having a little trouble describing this.) That is, if you look at both the points and the subpatch surface, the points are all external to the surface.

When one is trying to accomplish this, is POINT NORMAL MOVE the usual way?

What I'd like is an automated way that would move masses of points just the amount along their normals that would result in them being external to the subdiv surface. For me, that would result in a good starting point for more tweeking.
