Made this very simple object, tried to BOOLEAN SUBTRACT Layer 2 FROM Layer 1.

Interior polygons were not generated.

Given the simplicity of this object, why is this failing??

you have duplicated polygons on your first layer, use "Unify Polygons", then it will work

wuht the.... how'd THAT happen? Thanks Danner: when it went wrong I tried merged Points, but I never thought of 'merging' Polys.

Perpetual Noob Mode: (stuck) ON. --ohhh, the shame.....

At least I'm some sort of cautionary tale for The Kids.

Lol, we've all been stuck on some strange error, we call them poltergeists in our office and I'm the resident ghost buster so I have a mental list of the usual suspects.

I feel especially foolish because, if there are points to merge, there are probably polys to unify. d'oh!

The second I make some $$$ with LW I'm sending Denis some Euros and buying those. Until then....

Hi Jeric,
The plugins are actually created by a Japanese company. I heartily recommend them... The booleans are so simple yet powerful you can work in sub Ds. In some ways that's more advanced than Zbrush which works wonders with booleans though not so interactively and only with very dense meshes which you then need to retopologise.

bobakabob, oh, I'm sold, but LW has to earn its way in this household.
