View Full Version : Weight maps and how to kill them?

I have a problem with a skirt that by some reason has adopted all weight maps from a character!

I donīt want them there at all but find it time consuming to delete them one by one in modeler!

I wonder if there is a way to get rid of them all with a smart procedure without grooving a beard
longer than Santaīs?

Batch Delete Vertex Maps

In native LW you can delete them one by one.

So the only alternative to delete a lot of VMaps in one action is to pay $300 for a bundle of plugins from TrueArt?

Damn! That sucks!

But thanks anyway Sensei!

Just use "delete map", it's native to Lightwave modeler.

You can also delete Vertex Maps from the vertex maps window (F8). It will display weight, morph, texture, vertex color selection sets and vertex normals.

yes...but it is still individual checking and removal, shift and click to select all in that row like normal windows behavior would solve it.

That is true, but it can be a quick process since you just have to hit the delete key and there is no confirmation to slow you down, then again, there is no confirmation which can be a problem. It would be helpful to be able to select multiple maps though, and I'm not sure why that wasn't part of the design. Curious.

Amurell! I have hundreds of maps popping up in each figure so I actually canīt say that this is a quick process at all. Iīd rather say itīs a waste of time and after the third object my beard has grown longer than Santaīs :)

The best suggestion this far is the one from Skywatcher_NT to export as Lightwave5. The only problem with this is that all important information in the FBX figure that is needed will be deleted as well...

I understand. In your case this isn't really an elegant, practical solution, but it is an option for smaller problems. :)

To bad I do not understand Japanese! I have tried to figure out what they mean with both IE, Chrome and Firefox but it doesnīt seem like DStorm are interested in understandable vocabulary for translation to other languages!
