View Full Version : One of a thousand reasons to rework Fracture

Hi,
I found a very nice singularity of Fracture. I would call it a bug, NT might say it should be so...

If you fracture this:

124600

with set to "Background Layer Points" and this in BG layer (random points, made with "Spray Points":

124601

You get this:

124602

So far, so good. But if you use this points in BG layer (random points, made with "Points" and moved in space to get a volume):

124603

You get this:

124604

To be clear: you can match the point position exactly with the one created with "Spray Points" but LW would interpret it differently.
It seems that it use the positions where the points initially were created (all on the same plane) and not the current one.
Well then, happy modeling....

ciao
Thomas

I've noticed that fracture sometimes repositions the background points after use. Possibly just display error, or it makes an undo too many, or just randomly trash your background to remind you of the importance of saving regurlarly.
