Hi, guys!

Well, we talked (and speculated) a lot about lw 12 and now I would like to know what you expect from LW13.
What would you like to see? Which tools would benefit you more? What do you think LW needs in each area?
Share your thoughts guys, I really would like to know.

All the changes in 12 just aren't working for me--it's all too weird and not Lightwavey enough. I hope they learn from their mistakes and make 13 more like we had back in the 11.x days.

I think lightwave 12 and 13 will be dead, since we are entering 2015 soon, it might be about time to jump on to how other software developer is naming their versions, and go for year release names and not consequite version numbers, which by the way donīt follow any logic anyway with the 11.2 11.5 jumps etc.

So it may be named lightwave 2015, and icluding the recent advances in 3d technology for that year. :)

I'm just depressed because now I'll have to update my machine and OS. I'm thinking the smoothest working rig will be Windows 15, an Intel 2112 CPU and a GeForce Fifty-Nine Billion. Then I could really do some character animation!

ever since i switched to LightWave 12 polygon manipulation has been going too fast, they need to slow it down again :/

also don't like the new realtime photorealistic render engine... it looks "too" real... :l

I don't know. LW 13 is fine and I use it daily, it delivers and it's way better now. But I just downloaded blender 8.35 and it looks really promising. I'll give it a go soon.

I travelled in the TARDIS with my mate Doctor ahead 4 years and there never was a LIghtwave 13. It was something else. Yes, the Doctor exists and not just a TV show. I can't say anymore at risk of causing at Temporal Paradox which might split the basline timeline into mini universes.

After uninstalling the Occulus Rift Dreamer MeshBot construction Node,
my daytimes have been more restful!
The over-night Meta Renderer is giving me more handsome constructions,
less nightmarish distortions. My girlfriend is a sea of pixels under control now!

Then i jacked Lightwave13 into 'Matrix' Mode and, wooah.........................

Okay. I'm not sure how much of this thread is serious and how much is tongue and cheek. I'm considering the crossgrade purchase of LW 11.6. How does that stand compared to these other versions, real or imagined that everyone is talking about? I'll be doing Win7 64b 12G RAM. Ok or No-K?

I'm loving it so far!

On another note, now that 3dsmax and Houdini are EOL'd it looks like the guys at The Foundry are having difficulties splitting Maya 2016 into their 3 separate programs. Apparently the HUB between Mayaīs new modeler (integrated with Modo) and the Animator is working fine, but the second HUB (Animator-Render) is not stable. Great news for us and for Blendema 5D.

Hi. I wrote several posts today as a new member. Not only did I receive no replies, none of them seem to be posted. Hello, how do I get in touch with the moderator to see why?Activation of new accounts is handled manually, usually many times each day, including evenings, weekends and holidays. (This process, while slightly inconvenient for new members at times, is the reason we so seldom have to endure spam in these forums).

Occasionally it can take slightly longer. In rarer cases it can involve a multi-step process. I won't get into a specific detail, but as examples, this can happen when an applicant's IP address appears on a forum spammer 'blacklist', but is perhaps 'stale-dated'; or when a membership application has some other dubious quality (applications from bots and spammers often have certain common characteristics).

BTW, none of this has anything to do with LightWave, per se, it's just about keeping the venue free of rubbish posts from spammers and similar miscreants. Sorry for the inconvenience. If it helps, just think of it as having gained admission to an elite group. :)

the current state of lightwave is 11.6..so the threadstarter went for a lightwave 13 thread, and consequently what follows should be taken by a grain of salt..or two, and since you donīt see any Real new news from newtek or the lightwave group, you should be able to do the math based on that.
I myself is about to look for lightwave 16, but I have no clue on where to find it.

Well I upgraded to Version 13 and I don't care what others might say, I am totally in love with the new multi-split app direction they've taken, Modeler, Layout, Rigmaster, UVmapper, Hubmaster, Animator and the stand alone renderer. I find each app is much cleaner and I'm better able to concentrate on the task at hand without distractions. Yet some people still want a unified environment, ca-razy.

Just right-click on the object, select Edit, and the Modeler palette appears. Easy peasy. Don't use the Magnet tool yet though--it will erase your hard drive.

A MUSCLE SYSTEM - yeah, we can't do realistic characters without it and LW is the only pack that does not have.

BULLET SOFTBODIES review - Actually it's not good.

NON DESTRUCTIVE KEYFREMABLE SCULPT IN LAYOUT ( Cronosculpt without that point cache thing )

MOCAP WORK ON LAYOUT ( Nevromotion 2 attached )

WEIGHTPAINT IN LAYOUT

ANIMATABLE WEIGHTMAPS

BETTER MESH DEFORM FOR CHARACTERS WITH COLLISION MESH DETTTECTED

GENOMA RIGS REVIEW - Less heavy rigs and no surface names please

ONLY ONE GENERAL TREE PANEL WITH SEARCH OPTION ON

INTERFACE GROUP PER INTEREST

DEFORM STACK

PERSPECTIVE VIEW TO CAMERA VIEW

COMPLEX DEFORM NODES - Skin and Influence Objects deformation nodes

NO PAINFULL FIBER FX or another fiber system

SCULPT TOOLS TO MODEL FIBERS

ALL THE 3RDPOWERS TOOLS INCORPORATED

Oh sorry, this is an old request. I've not seen the button " Do an Amazing 3D Film Now " on Lightwave 12.9

it does, it's just that nobody bothered to make it, try it...

in fact, Bullet Soft Dynamics combined with animated UV endomorphs, LightWave actually has fantastic unique muscle simulation capabilities. link to the UVE trick > http://forums.newtek.com/showthread.php?85719-Fun-with-Nodes-UV-morphing&p=1028484#post1028484

The right way to fix this problem is to make the extra window with a perspective view disappear, it's completly unnecessary to have an extra viewport. I know it comes from a third party plugin, but it should be integrated so you work in the standard viewport.

For all you having issues with 13, you need to sign into your x account to download the 13.ƒ version....you'll need your dna registration # to sign in (but its not like you forget something like that)....after downloading you need to unzip the file into the deteronic frombotzer (which you recieved when you ordered 13) and run the preamp communotube routine on your transwereinizer....after that all set

almost forgot... dont forget to do the regsitration chant before you fire up 13 or you need to start all over.

The Pan & Scan Image Filter works but itīs not very efficient because this Image Filter is running on only 1 thread.

Another issue is that cropping is actually resizing because it seems that I canīt actually change the memory footprint of an image inside LScript.

Would be nice to have OpenGL accelerated commands available in LScript.
