View Full Version : Using UV mapping as selection tool?? --Bueller? Standard practice?

I was playing around with ABF UV Unwrap (seems cool) and it suddenly struck me that sometimes selecting polys in the UV map can be easier than directly in the 3d viewports.

Is this a common practice? It seems to have advantages over PARTS, since PARTS cannot overlap.

The more I work in 3d the more I feel Selection is the key to efficient workflow.

I use uv to select geometry very often, never gone as far as to make a UV specifically for selecting but I can see where that could be useful.
