View Full Version : Possible to export multiple objects as single obj sequence?

I have a scene with a bunch of animated lwo's, is it possible to merge all the lwo's with their respective animation into one single object so I can export them as a single obj seq?

This would be very helpful and save me countless hours of work if possible.
Thanks!

This will sorta get you there. It won't collapse everything into a single sequence but you could possibly script that batch loading operation.

You can do that with MD Baker, which comes standard with LW. My main problem is I can collapse all my obj's into one ):

Ah, didn't realize MD_Baker can do that now. The big difference with my script is that you don't have to apply it on each object.

I can't think of anything out there that will do what you want enmasse. There are scene to object scripts but you can't automate them.

But objects have typically different amount of points,
with different topology of polygons..

Are you thinking about many objects that have same source, so quantity of points and polygons is the same?

Just curious but how many separate files are you trying to combine into one?

It's an animation of a bunch of roofing shingles flying onto a roof, there are several hundred of them. I would like to export all of them as a solid OBJ sequence for use in Element 3D.

I've used that save transform script on other projects but never as an animation. It won't work in my case, however, because it will not read the MDD data when I export the transformed scene. All my pieces have a baked animation applied to them.
