hi there,
very nice tutorial there on lightwave3d youtube channel:
http://youtu.be/91-AhJ4SEuw?list=UUHH_DyamqSy1UJUCvYhdR8A

It would be nice if we can have the scene file to study how the node setup is done. Is it possible to get the scene file?

Thanks

Well the node setup is actually shown in the clip, but the fractal settings are not, so itīs just a matter of finding the right scale, values, frequencies in the turbulence, crackle and other procedurals, I followed it a little for the displacement and got a decent result.
That water is a more medium size stirred up lake water it seems, I like to use the ridged multifractal for larger seascapes..but I am not there yet to get the best desired look..something in the ridged multifractal is a little off when it is animated, but otherwise it can
give very nice ocean swells.

hot ocean is more mathematical correct maybe, but also tend to be too slow to work with in some cases, and it canīt be forced to adjust the displacements in to any other pattern than what is available.

I think it was gracious enough to share the tutorial, keep in mind that we shall do our own work..and not just copy out of others.

Hi

I also love this tutorial.

But I was blown away when I saw what DP Node Pixel is capable.

Are there any video tutorials which explain this plugin more in depth?

medzo, you can read more details about PixelFilter at Denis' webpage >

Gerardo also shared lots of tricks here >

and yes, it's pretty cool... http://erikalstad.com/backup/misc.php_files/smile.gif

hereīs some more links, jennifer lw group meeting recording is a bit hard to follow since the bad compression quality though...
Jennifer Hachigan showcasing firstly render buffers..then the dpontīs pixel filter...

I asked Louis du Mont if he could share the scene as I couldnt get results close to his and thought it would be a great scene to pick apart. He said he would dig it out and share which is hugely generous of him.
I think it will generate a lot of questions from me :)

I am going to make a real effort to get my head around it!!
