View Full Version : Particles "clumping" on calculate/cache

I'm trying to rough out an animation using HV for a watery stream/spray kind of thing. When I'm sitting live in Layout, things generally look OK. My particles create a more of a stream at the beginning before they hit a collision object and spray out.

However when I hit the Calculate button or otherwise try to save a .pfx file (as ultimately I want/need to network render this when I'm done) the particles emit in several "clumps" rather than smoothly like they do when the PFX is 'live.' See attached images.

It's like it stops subsampling time. I don't have occasion to use particles in LW that much but don't see a place to mess with the sampling. Am I missing something or is this just the way it's going to work and I need to work around it some other way, like cranking up the frame rate and then rendering every Nth frame so it runs at the right speed, etc. ?
