Well I am finally having a go with lightwave ...again this time I broke out Dan's sig series and well if you want to make good looking stuff following Dan your going to be disappointed on the upside though if you want to learn the tools to make your own stuff your going to love him and his teachings. so while my modelling is rather naff I have made a start doing the hammer and showing you some screen captures. I feel I have done ok thus far still a long way to go. although I gave Dan a negative comment I really want to say how happy I am with his teachings and cant want for the new one to come out soon. keep up the good work Dan

Well I have to say that the modeling of the hammer is well done! It will be interesting to see how you texture it.

ATM I don't know how I am going to texture it. just trying to subpatch all the text that will go onto the shaft I only have a few hours a week to do play with Lightwave so its going to be slow progress. I will finish this sig series but with better models (I Hope). I am really looking forward to making the Bat but again ill makes Dans then try to go nuts and make a much better one ready for the flocking. going to post all my results here from the training.

Well prob the worst Topology for text ever made in lightwave3D but it works.....Just lol here is a screen garb thus of the mess

Tell me what you think I myself am really unhappy I can do better im sure. This took HOURS to make and its rubbish, for now it works so ill move onto the boarder parts that should be EZ when I make it again going try for much better edge flow so that I don't need to cut all the way over as I did in some parts. like I said this works so time to move on. XD

right I just could not leave it be the head that I was sort of happy with got under my skin so I remade it in about 25 min thus far, Guess I finally getting faster with LightWave. the edit edges tool with the help from this forum saying I can slide a single edge with ctr +drag was a big help. gonna see how far I can take it today XD

Zooming along now might even get it finished today. pro not but you never Know. I want to remodel the claw parts again just trying to resist since I still have the text to figure out. but the good part is that its rubber so I can have softer looking text sure that will help with poly count and flow123303

How would I change the flow of the edges to make this getting a bit stuck on this one was hoping I did was not going to need help. I did not a multi_shift inset and had some more loops in and it worked OK but the lower left corner was not round and had smoothing errors.

Well here is the indents done just about some parts are not as smooth as I would of wanted but getting there. so much more to do but im happy with the way it is going.

well I going to move on to UV's Now not happy with the model but its OK not too bad atm really unsure of how to texture it. but I want to move on from this and get to the Bat. any tips on how to do surfacing would be fantastic.

well it not flashy and very poor render but im calling this done as I want to move onto the more fun stuff.
