View Full Version : how do I make a pulse move along a path?

Specifics: I have a flat "nike swoosh" type of object that I want to deform and travel along a path. I have used the "curve constraint" and "serpent" plug-ins but the object will not seem to bend to or "hug" the spline curve deforming itself to the shape of the curve. The object still is rigid. If this is something obvious or is in the manual and i'm just not seeing it please point me to the right direction.

It is following the path you want, but it is not deforming right?
How do you want it to deform?

Perhaps you could try making a morphmap for it and morphing it into the shape you want, while it moves along the path...assuming the deformed shape will stay constant.

I need it to act like a snake weaving its way over and under the spokes of a wagon wheel.

Actually its not a snake but a glowing ribbon that winds its way around a logo. How do you make the ribbon(snake) curve in a helix up and around a logo(tree)?

Try the spline control plugin that was added in 7.5c
It can be used for something like that.
