View Full Version : lightwave to marvelous designer help

Hi everyone,
I am wondering if anyone is using marvelous designer and having any luck getting a model created in lightwave into marvelous designer. I don't have much experience with marvelous designer, but I tried to import a collada and a obj file into it and it crashes before it loads.

On some forum I came across, they say the exporters in lightwave are the fault, others say you have to have your avatar a certain scale, ...I don't know what way to go with this so I figure someone has to be using the software with positive results.

Any tips or tricks?...

I know this is an oldish posting but wondering if you ever got it resolved?

I just came across Marvelous Designer indirectly from a posting using it along with 3DCoat. I just started snooping around to see if other LW'ers were using it. Pretty jaw dropping at least for me.

They're now up to V5 rather than the V2 of the above vid.

Yep it's amazing. Too bad about the high entry fee. :)

I export to obj before loading an avatar into MD. Much less trouble that way. I've never gotten collada to work right.

Marvelous Designer training promotion for artists (https://cgelves.com/courses-workshops/mastering-marvelous-designer/#addtocart) at CG Elves, where the combined training, already down from $1182.00 to $399.00, is further reduced to just $99 if you punch in "Halloween17" for October only. I won't jump in myself, but that seems a good deal. Just picture the LW alien head dressed as The Fonz. :)
