Hello LightWavers

After playing around with various 3D software and evaluating demos for many years I finally decided to purchase LightWave plus some plugins (3rd Powers, Worley, IFW2).

While modo was an option, C4D is way too expensive in the complete package for me as a hobbyist. I seriously considered to go for Blender but never really liked the UI.

The render quality, the workflow, endless possibilities and my positive experience with LW5.6 on IRIX in the early days made me a happy owner now. Also I have been following this forum a while now, the LW community is just awesome.

Cheers and sunny greetings,

Marander

You will not regret getting lightwave. I had it for many years and still love it.
Lightwave 3d is good enough to make work like starship troopers animated.
It can make great work and pay good money.
A word of advice: Sasquatch (from worley) is very good plugin, I really like
using it.
Cheers !!!

Yep, it still works. The only thing that doesn't is the colour picking function with the new LW colour picker, you have to switch to the system colour picker and then it works fine.

Wow thank you all so much!

The Studio Setup is indeed very useful! The tree scene is beautiful, very nice artwork, David!

Worley taft and polk plugins also work on 11.6.x with the same limitation to the standard color picker.

Cheers, Marander
