Cody casually uses ctrl+C to copy edges. I thought that copy edges was only available via a plugin (Matt's?), which works for everything anyway, so is it now the official replacement for the Copy function?

(Which is very Good if true.)

It's worth noting that on a mac you can only get this to work using ctl-c, not the traditional cmd-c.

Ctrl-c while in edge mode will store 2 points data, and after pasting you will have 2 point polygon.

Or multiple 2 point polygons.

I seem to recall simply replacing the COPY function in the hotkey editor with Matt's (?) Copy Edges plugin, because why the hell not? It respected the mode, so seemed a no-brainer.

Cannot mac users simply edit their hotkeys to make this happen? My "c" entry is "COPY EDGES", and that's just the way I like it. Regular old "Copy" isn't even assigned. It's a fossil.
