Speed Modelling Challenge #261 - Super Heroes

Rules:
1. Every week there will be a subject for you to model along with a time limit. You should spend no longer than the allocated time, then post a render of your model. As in most challenges like this, your honesty on modelling times is essential. How you interpret the brief is up to you as long as the final model conforms to what is asked for.
2. Post a wire-frame and a render at 800x600 or larger. (For wireframe help go to: http://www.artssphere.com/plugins/polygoncoloring.php
3. LightWave must be used for modelling. 3rd party Plug-ins are allowed.
4. You can enter as many times as you like, posting each in this thread. If you run over the time, the model can still be posted but won't be subject to the judging.
5. Time spent on texturing, setting up a scene for a render and rendering is not included in the allocated period.
6. The winner is judged by the challenge starter and the prize is to set up the challenge after next week's.

Just got done watching Captain America: Winter Soldier. So this weeks topic Super Heroes could be a logo, a weapon, vehicle, tool, utility belt, or go the whole hog and see if you can knock out character. Gonna up it to 90 minutes in case anyone wants to try to do a character.

I'm really, really new to 3d modeling and this the third thing I've tried to model outside of a tutorial so here is my attempt at Captain Americas shield. I tried to model it as close to the reference sizes I found on the web. The surfacing still needs a lot of work.

Welcome Tommy, Nice shield.

Here is my entry. Just watched the new X-men and have always felt Cyclops never got much love in those movies. Decided to try making his visor. Visor took me about 60 minutes and stand took me about another 30.

Enjoy

tommyc- Awesome Cap'n shield, simple model done very well. Looks like you kept everything in quads which is always nice.
wittywop- Going a bit more complex with some really nice wires. Digging the addition of the X stand as well.

So this week I judge in favor of the Wittywop for his Cyclops visor. Great work sir.

Here is one I did but forgot to upload. Not really sure how long it took me, I would model a bit then go do something else and come back to it.
