View Full Version : Library of Spline shape generator scripts?

Found I need a quick Helix/spiral spline for use in Spline Control. Hoops and jumping are words that spring to mind.

Now we are all loving Spline Control, can anyone point me to a library of scripts that could generate a whole load of pre-defined splines (helix, stars....) in modeller, with all the options of start/end rotations/sizes etc that can then be quickly and easily sent through to Layout for the simple Curve-to-spline option?

This one can create basic splines ( with the ability to vary the shapes too )

Hope it helps :)

Think this one can generate null shapes ( maybe there's a star in there? ) I think they end up as splines...?

Thanks deform, that will get the ball rolling. I put Spline into the dad base search and didn't have anything I was looking for.

I thought that Nulls approach was an interesting idea but turns out they are just to add shape items to nulls.

Ah, sorry about the Null option.
I sure there must be a script somewhere to convert Null shapes to .lwo

Had a quick look at the Justaddmilk.org site, see if there was anything there. There's some tantalising references to Bezier Spline in Layout but it's all in code/library form and it's not my bag at all - just need a ready-to-use script.

But, if you do that, you're going to be limited to whatever the author decides to code.

Something like ianr (?) 's "CREATE_LSCRIPT.LS" that allows you to build your own library of shapes, is ultimately preferrable, IMO.

(Of course, RIGHT NOW, anything would be good, since rent and groceries loom....)
