Hi everybody.

i want to sell my (french) lightwave licence. I not use it and i need some cash.

So

1) is it possible ?
2) What is the correct price for an 11.5 lightwave licence today ? (i've the usb dongle, it was a 9.2 upgraded licence)
3) how newtek proceed with the new owner to send the licence key ?
4) is there a way to only send the licence key to the new owner without send the usb dongle and the cd box ?

Thanks for your help ! (sorry for my bad english).

1. Yes
2. You should check what it's selling for in the store and price it out accordingly.
3 . You'd have to email customer support for the process.
4. You'll have to send at least the dongle as well. If you kept it there's nothing from preventing you from still using LightWave which defeats the purpose of you selling it.

Thats pretty low for a current license. Id ask for at least $700.

I'd like to raise a point here about selling used lightwave in general. I've wanted to ask this for awhile.

The main barrier surely to buying used software is the fear of buying a pirated copy. Is there any way of ensuring that a copy as in this case is not cracked or pirated? In particular could Newtek provide any help or proof towards this end?

You could coordinate with the seller and have the LightWave Group confirm he has a copy.

Someone should grab this before it's gone.

I'm not sure just how secure the soft dongle is but, if a copy is being sold with the hardware lock, that's a pretty good indication that it will run and isn't pirated. There may be ways of fooling the dongle but, as empchan says, a confirmation from NewTek of the HW ID will tell if it's legitimate.

Maybe there's a way of going through ebay to have a bit of buyer protection? I'm looking to buy a new licence very soon and would be interested if it could be validated in some way.

i fix the price : 550 euros (not included forwarding charges to send the dongle and the original v9 box and somes books). Hope i could sell it to a french or european user to have low forwarding charges...

thanks for your help.
