View Full Version : number of instances as a function of camera distance, anyone?

what is the easiest way to set up instances (natively or with DP instancer) in order to have less instances in the background and more in the foreground of an animated render camera? i thought first about a weight map controlling the desnity which is linked to the camera position, but maybe there is a more elegant nodal solution? any help would be appreciated.

There is a distance to camera gradient you might be able to use in the weight channel...not sure if you have to go nodes for it, might just work anyway.

ah thanks for the heads up! i almost forgot about that, as working mostly with dp instancer, which is somewhat limited when you want to use maps. this option is apparently only present in LW's native instancing tool... ;-)
