Cool software....doesn't include a few advanced features in the free version...
And been free since version 9...

It is not mandatory, it works very well with any camera ;)

The + is that they are purchased in this context : with software thought in parallel with their camera may remain open to other cameras. Version 11 is big good forward because it allows the edition in addition to the improvements expected.

Are there benefits of this over the NLE in Blender? (Save me wasting a download and install, yeah, I AM that lazy ;) )

Not if you are doing simple and short cuts and edits. Definitely yes if you are looking for a NLE that is on par with anything used for larger projects, such as Avid, Lightworks, Final Cut Pro, Premiere. Version 11 promises to become one of the best NLE experiences, even compared to the big ones.

For colour grading it is sort of an industry standard. I would wait till version 11 lite is out, and install that.

This is a completely amazing piece of software. I can't believe how much stuff they didn't cut out of the free version - I mean, it's got 99% of the tools indie filmmakers need
