It looks like the Substance software (Painter, Designer, Indie Pack) are having a sale.

Is this a good suite for use with Lightwave? Non-native support makes me cringe a little as I already have to take extra steps when using other software. What would be the advantage of using this with LW over something like the Quixel tools; dDO and nDO (which I already have). The indie package pricing is attractive though. But for us that mainly use Lightwave, would this be a beneficial add-on app over the tools we already use? Can I easily generate maps without the native support? Not being snarky, just wondering how easy it would be to import models for mapping and then exporting those maps for rendering in another engine such as lightwave or Octane.

I am tempted to take advantage of that pricing though - guess I am interested in input from people whom have used this and the Quixel tools.

Thanks!

I believe these programs are more about texturing so they should work with LW just fine though I don't see any direct integration like the other DCC apps. I did ask them though.

I just thought about posting here cuz this may be another of those sales that others don't know about. I didn't know about Syflex until someone brought it up on the forum.

I am greatful for the info! I would not have known about the sale as I don't frequent that site much. I was also not bashing on the program or the info you share - just wondering how good it is for using with lightwave vs dDO or nDO.

The price is good though for this indie pack. I think I am going to take advantage just to have another tool available.

thanks for the info.
