View Full Version : Can Ray Cast deal with rotation?

I have some rotating mechanical arms on a device, that I wish to stop rotating once it hits another object while keeping contact on the objects uneven surface as the device moves forward. I have seen how it is done using position on the demo videos. Just wondering if it can be setup with objects that rotate.

Possibly, can you please post a screenshot of what you're trying to accomplish, suitable annotated?

What ray cast does basically is shoot a ray in a straight line and looks if it hits an object that's listed in the list.

Thanks James. Attached is a screen grab from the animation with notes on it that I am trying to do. If it can be done, it would save time. 121027
