View Full Version : Alembic support, how reliable?

Got super excited recently when I discovered that I can do some quick mograph stuff in C4d and export it to LW using the Alembic format. When imported a lwo is created as a cluster of points and an MD Reader is attached and pointing to the same file.

Looks likes I can texture and move around (when parented to a null) really easily as normal. Bit of fiddling with the Frame Offset but so far so good.

Problem is that after every subsequent restarting of LW something looks to go a bit strange with the Point Order and I get distorted geometry.

Is there something else I can do to get a consistent result? I think I've seen this behaviour in other baked motions so could it be a buggy MD Reader plugin?

Looks like I can get it to work correctly but only if I re-connect the filename in the plugin every time I load a scene - a real pain, must be a MD Reader thing(?).

If you think it's a bug, please report it to the fogbugz system.
