yes..this is what have been in the back of my head too, how it should work actually.
Now...that would be very challenging though if it ever will be possible to do in Layout, unless porting mesh editing/creating tools over, I could be satisfied for a year or two it they simply could get much better spline curve guides in layout that can be cut, re-segmented, and brushed with a completly new layout brush tool...z-brush pipeline is excluded for Lightwave ideas.
The fiberfx edit guides in layout is horrible...they need to do something about it.

I agree,
and craches all the time and if you update the mesh, you loose all your work !

Sigh! IT would be great if they just made FiberFX rock solid.

I know Fiber FX is based off the old plugin Fiber Factory but Worley's competitive product Sasquatch was ROCK SOLID!
