Could FabricEngine be integrated into Lightwave?

Future Proof Your R&D
Fabric Engine is a development framework that reduces the cost and risk of building high-performance production tools.

The site has an integration guide and it looks doable in LW, you would need to write a master plugin that catches events, motion plugins to read and write motion channels, displacement plugins to deform the meshes, a meshdata edit to create geometry on-the-fly, and a communication ring to have all of this work together.

Hard to do? Probably not.
A lot of work/time? Yep
Will you be able to make enough money from it to justify the time? NO WAY!

Just out of curiosity, for the Maya and Softimage integration, who wrote those plugins ?
Was it Fabric Engine themselves?
It might be in their interest to make it as cross application as possible. Could we drum up enough interest for Paul and the team to include Lightwave plugins ?

You woul'd have to generate a lot of interest because the FE Team has no resources to do it, if they had they woul'd have done it for modo already.(Paul said neither FE has time nor Foundry for it, or even enough user interest)
Licenses for Individuals are free, so no one is stopping a bright head from doing so...

I downloaded it and checked the integration guide, and to be honest, the first impression I got was that this beast needs at least a year before becoming really useful.

But the idea behind it, is great.

Their node editor looks exactly like ICE which is no surprise since its from some of the same people.

I downloaded Fabric Engine and I can't work out what the software is trying to do? What is the point of Fabric Engine? I don't get it.
