View Full Version : is there a way to zoom into models up close in modeler?

in layout there's an option that you click called "fix clip distance", this allows you to zoom into a model up close to see the details within inches of the camera's viewport and without it the model vanishes if you get too close. is there an equivalent of "fix clip distance" inside modeler? thanks.

As objects move further away from the origin, you are able to zoom in on them less and less. An object relatively close to origin you can zoom in on as much as you probably want to. But if you have a object that is quite large or quite far away from the origin, you won't be able to get as close. Selecting a few polygons and hitting shift A zoom you into the area and then zooming from there you can see how close you can get to the area in question.

Hi Octopus, in modeller it works slightly differently, 'clip distance' is automatic depending on your selection, so if you need to see the small stuff, select some polys down there and hit 'fit all' clipping should now dynamically scale to what you want to look at?
