View Full Version : Scene Autosave for LW11.6

I'm sure this is a total newbie question, but is there an autosave option for LW11.6.

I'm on a Mac and haven't been able to find ANYTHING regarding autosaving your scenes on a timed basis.

I'm sure it's part of the software (really, who would design software in 2014 without this feature?)

If someone can point me on how to set this up, I'd be really grateful......I lost 4 hours work Saturday...ugh.....

It's a setting in the HUB but I wouldn't recommend it. Sometimes you want to go back and with the poor undo function it's smarter to use incremental saves.

Jeez....every friggin piece of software on earth does this.....why not LW?

I know there's probably a deep seated technical reason why it won't but seriously....this is a very expensive piece of professional software......

Don't get your knickers in a twist...
There's an autosave in the Layout Options panel at the bottom, You can choose to autosave objects, or scenes. I tend to just autosave scenes as objects can be significantly larger.

If you have modeler and layout syncronized you are also autosaving your objects to a temp folder. This has saved me a few times. On win7 it's on:

Both Layout and modeler have autosave options in preferences (since Lw 11).

Mea Culpa. Mea Culpa.

I feel like a complete idiot.

Thanks Dodgy. You rock.
