Does anyone have an inkling when LWCAD 5 might be released? I'm in a position to upgrade from 2.5 and would rather wait for 5 to get the most out of my money, even if it doesn't qualify for a discount.

Always a conundrum when buying software. According to the product section the gap from 3.5 to 4.0 was; LWCAD 3.5 November 21th, 2009 - LWCAD 4.0 November 28th, 2011.

But there is no guarantee that we'll see a 4.6, which would be due around now following the same development cycle, nor a 4.61 before a wait for 5.0. If you have an idea of what the tipping point is at which you feel it wouldn't be worth it, perhaps you can query it with Viktor and see if he can give you an assurance that 5.0 won't be released before that time.

Thanks. I probably won't mind so much if 4.0 were just released, but since we seem to be near the end of the 4.x cycle I'd hate to jump in now. That's happened more times than I like.

Viktor is hoping to put LWCAD 5 into beta soon. But no timeframe given so soon could be open to interpretation. :)

Ha. Well, that means he's developing 5 and not 4.6 at least.

thanks for the update!

Has he publicly made a wish list for what "may be" included feature wise? It would be kind of cool just to see what he's thinking...

I haven't seen any new videos from him recently, so I can only assume he's very busy.

It's the one plugin that I put money aside for, as every update has been amazing. Can't wait to see what he's got for us this time.

No, but he told me he probably has enough stuff in mind for the next 5 versions of LWCAD.
