otacon: i am trying to get some of the lightwave community together to make a community movie, we are just going to try to do a short right now, but we need modelors, animators, etc...

i was fascinated by your car model, even tho i am fascinated every day by lightwave stuff, so if you are interested, here is the page: http://vbulletin.newtek.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13585&perpage=15&pagenumber=1

just for one thing we need a model of a car, along with others, the story is in zip format at that forum

What settings did you use to surface the car and what was your lighting setup?...if I may ask.

For the surface I used a really dark blue color, almost black....specularity at 100%, and i have gradients on the color, diffuse, glossiness, and reflection, all affected by the incidence angle. The lighting setup is pretty simple, i used a tutorial on faking GI using luxigons. I dont remember where i got the tutorial, but its fairly common. In addition to the 15 luxigon lights, i added a spotlight to act as the sun, with a slightly yellow color and a fairly high intensity.:D
