Need some information on connecting to an MP-69 controller. We have an 860 with LiveText 2. There is a port of the back of the controller labeled handswitch which is a DB-9 connector. Is that the connection the serial data comes out? Could I go from serial to USB and come into our Thinkpad? Lastly, there is a template in Data-link for Translux with football and basketball settings, but I don't see anything listed for the key/value pairs in the manual for basketball. Does anyone know what those are? Is it a simple matter to make the connection, install the USB driver on the laptop running LiveText, setting the COM port and then the key/value pairs? We have the latest version of LiveText, just recently installed.

The MP69 protocol Fairplay used is PCM and not standard serial. There are several work arounds.
1. Purchase a new MP70 controller from Fairplay. It can then send the MP69 protocol to your scoreboard AND the MP70 (standard serial) protocol to the Newtek graphics.
2. Sportzcast is working on the ability to accept the MP69 protocol. If we finish the protocol it will probably be this summer before being released.

Send us a picture of the front and back of the MP69 controller. We can verify if it can support getting the data.
