View Full Version : Normal map F9 rendering issue

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help me with an issue I'm having with rendering a normal mapped object with F9 render (see attached).

The map looks absolutely fine in VPR however when I render with F9 I get an error I can't seem to sort out.

The normal map is tangent space.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

How is your mesh?
triangulated or with ngons?

A ha! The old non-planar polygon catching me out again!!

The poly in question is non-planar so triangulating it sorted the problem. You are a life saver!

Also normal maps need to be in "linear" colorspace or the work erratically.
