You can save as google earth file and renane it to .zip and open the compressed file there you will find a collada file you can open in lightwave. Good luck!

You can export as .dea file in sketchup. Also there is a free obj export plugin somewhere.

What I'm looking for is another software than sketchup to convert the file, another 3D software that will import the skp file, any ideas??

You could try the LWO Export plugin.
Or install the STL Export plugin (http://extensions.sketchup.com/content/sketchup-stl). Then convert either in LW or an external format converter.

There are also these two that do OBJ directly. The Zbyl version is an rbz and needs to be installed using the Extensions dialog. Other just get dropped into the plugins folder.

I use Rhino and it loads .skp files and exports .lwo .obj .fbx

Also check this sketchup-lightwave pipeline thread, but I think some links in there are broken, so instead use the plugins posted by spherical here.
