View Full Version : iPhone 'fluid' ads: how, with what , who?

so, familiar with that iPhone ad where the phone is 'built' out of liquid gold?

How did they do that? (I suspect Houdini.)

Who did that?

Any chance in hell of a similar effect in LW?

(That ad TOTALLY makes me want an iPhone, and I'm allergic to Apple.)

I think this is not fluids. In my opinion this is way too well directed if you observe the flow. That's always a tell tale in CGI, how things
are driven. The best simulations look natural while some not. This is a grow-morph stuff. Could be achieved using LW. Imho. But nice.

well I guess it could have been done the same way as the opening credits for the girl with the dragon tattoo (us remake) there have been several animations done the same way for tv, done by blur studios and they used 3dmax and realflow (so yes you could probably do it in lightwave, and now with there cheap hobby version of realflow!)

Anybody used the Realflow PLE? How bad does it stun one's CPU?

This led me to watching about an hour's worth of Goldfrapp videos.

LOL, yes, the internet is a vortex of time-wastiness.

I'm pretty sure RF would make my system as responsive as a Sinclair/Timex 2K. But DAMN that looks cool.

Ahh well, best get onboard Flocking and Instancing first.... just grokking all of XswampyX's techniques would take months.

:genuflecting to swampy:

As bad as regular RealFlow, because it is regular RealFlow for nigh-all intents and purposes.

So, bad.
