Speed Modelling Challenge #243 - Rockin New Year!

1. Every week there will be a subject for you to model along with a time limit. You should spend no longer than the allocated time, then post a render of your model. As in most challenges like this, your honesty on modelling times is essential. How you interpret the brief is up to you as long as the final model conforms to what is asked for.
2. Post a wire-frame and a render at 800x600 or larger.
(For wireframe help go to: http://http://www.artssphere.com/plu...oncoloring.php)
3. LightWave must be used for modelling. 3rd party Plug-ins are allowed.
4. You can enter as many times as you like, posting each in this thread. If you run over the time, the model can still be posted but won't be subject to the judging.
5. Time spent on texturing, setting up a scene for a render and rendering is not included in the allocated period.
6. The winner is judged by the challenge starter and the prize is to set up the challenge after next week's.

This week's topic: Happy New Year! I watched a couple performances and thought why not do a musical instrument to help rock the new year in! So for this week model a real musical instrument. Weather it is a wind, a string, a percussion, or an electronic instrument let see what you got!!

Time Limit: 60 min.
Deadline: Wednesday 8th January, 2014 23:59:59 GMT

Rock on!

Had great fun making this. It felt like I was 12 again and was writing on my school books. :)

Glug! Glug!

Nah, I'm up on kit hill, If I get flooded then it's Noah and two of everything. :D

Ah, so more chance of falling down a mineshaft than drowning then! :D

Only Emmets fall down mineshafts. Doh!

Happy Kazoo Year!

One kazoo at just one hour. The backdrop and bowl put me over a sukoshi.

Here is a guitar. I went over on the time, but anyways.119136

Snare Drum. Modeled within the limit.119160119159

Trumpet. I use all available time, and model still lacks details, i plan to add it later when i got some time.
Almost all is done using bevel, multishift, untangle and - tadaaa! most useful in this case - Bezier Bridge (great plugin made by ART! thx!), very useful was also Edit Edges.
This time - wires, i plan add render later...
EDIT: trumpet render...
 :jam:

Great job everyone :) I like #243 a lot.
I also had some free time to finish trumpet's details and make final scene, here is it: Trumpet scene (http://forums.newtek.com/showthread.php?139602-Trumpet-scene)

Trumpet. I use all available time, and model still lacks details

Ha, I could only manage a bugle for one of the past challenges, it's sometimes hard to see where the time goes into a model, but I wouldn't have managed a trumpet in 60mins, nicely done.

Nice work all.
