Whats it like now guys ? GOOD or Bad

I still have a 9.6 license and can up-grade at any time.

Thanks

PS Bet there is still no audio support for Lip sync.

Lighwave 11 is very good on the Mac. I have never had to do any lip sync but I suspect that things have not changed much in that area.

LW 11.6 is way better than 9.6..but the Mac version is still not as gold ready as the PC version..just some bugs to make you go Grrrrrrrrr.

Hope there will be a 11.6.5 soon to fix the Mac related issues :(

I suppose it depends on your area of expertise as to what you would see as improvements in LW.

I can't say for OSX users, as I'm on PC, but a simple breakdown would be:

Modeler love - not a lot, but some little improvements like the new translate and transform tools, Tweak, Slice, Thickener, PlaceMesh, Heat Shrink, ABF Unwrap and Edit Edges.
Dongle Free
VPR - great for anyone who didn't/doesn't have FPrime (quicker in 11.6 too)
Soft Body Dynamics, Bullet, Flocking, Spline Control, Ray Cast Node and Instancing
FiberFX updates
GoZ and AE interchange
Genoma rigging
Stereo Rendering
New Colour Picker (Old Jovian Color Picker is no native in LW)
Quicker rendering and Unified Sampling

Here's a link to 11.5 and 11.6 features, you may find these more helpful:

Haha..basic OS system wide things like the search not working with objects https://fogbugz.newtek.com/default.asp?66576_7en3faat

OS X doesn't have flicker but LW does..see the other links in the previous post :)

Also..I'm seeing some very odd behavior..like if I have some points/polygons selected..I sometimes can select more without using the shift key. I have to go back and deselect and continue working...grrrrrr

On a related note..sometimes it's hard to deselect points/polygons..crazy stuff :P

I upgraded last week from 9.6 and i'm loving every second. Even the few new modeling functions bring a smile on your face.
I'm sure you won't regret. As for the osx problems, i don't know since i switched to a Win8 box. I was tired to hear and see (not available for osx).

What do you mean no audio support? I've loaded audio in and done lip sinc in the past, we can't do that now? Clarify please.

I had no problem loading .wav an .mp3. I would like a .aiff too, but it's not the case. So what do you call "no audio support" ?

I believe he was talking about 9.6. I can vaguely remember there were some posts on the topic, it was either difficult..and/or you had to jump over hoops to get it working..if you were lucky.

Something like that :)
