I wasnīt aware it has been released since october, at least the entry level plugin.
From what ivé seen from the images, the clouds are looking way more awesome and realistic compared to native vue clouds.

Helios is founded by Dax Phandi, a well knowned skilled vue artist.

Right now though, it seems like we have to wait for the cloud editing versions, where all the cool stuff starts to shape up..sounds very exciting...advanced animations that would
be hard or impossible in vue itself, unique cloud types not available in vue, new algorithms for subscattering light, fast GPU powered rendering and more.

Yeah...and here comes the silly comment, thatīs why I went for pc rather than mac...along with all other stuff requiring a pc.
but Helios is just in itīs cradle so who knows.

Edited...."Helios does not support Mac natively. We plan on introducing a Mac version in the future."

The only way that will come to lightwave..I think, that would be through vue xstream, you need to have infinite or xstream to run helios, it wonīt run standalone...
"Can I use Helios with 3ds max, Maya, Cinema4D, LightWave, or Softimage?
Yes. You can load Helios into Vue xStream which works with 3ds max, Maya, Cinema4D, LightWave, and Softimage."

And for mac..it might work throu virtualization...
"Yes. You can install and run Helios on Mac OS X if you use Parallels or other virtualization software. You would need to install Windows, Vue for Windows, and Helios on your virtual machine.

Helios does not support Mac natively. We plan on introducing a Mac version in the future.

Please note, since Helios is currently a PC-only application, we do not provide support for virtualization."

I did mail him and got some responses on what to expect, so I was concerned about the different noise/fractal types which I think are the parts where vue suck sort of, to give good cloud density ...but I was told there will be new ones in helios.
Speed enhancements and other stuff will be nice, I hope to try the demo out when it comes out with all the cloud stuff that is.
