View Full Version : FiberFX backlight/shadowing issue

Hello all, I'm having an issue with my fiberFX hair.

when I have a rim light/back light it will light the hair a bright white (if the it's a high intensity light it will make the hair almost go transparent). Also the head casts it's shadow on the hair in an almost unrealistic way making it too dark, and will ignore the lighting (fill lights) that are by it. The translucency button may as well be called the transparency button that is why it's at 0%, if anything above that all the hair goes white as a ghost and fades out.

I've attached an image and some relevant settings, the settings so far are the best to this point to make it look like it does, I've spent about the last two days tunning this hair and working with this lighting issue. I'm using hair guides, and applying the fiberFX to them.

Thanks for any help available.

Do people use fiberFX like this? Should I be using a geo mesh instead? Or did I just poorly write this question and it's hard to understand what the issue is?
