Speed Modelling Challenge #238 - Best part of your day

1.Every week there will be a subject for you to model along with a time limit. You should spend no longer than the allocated time, then post a render of your model. As in most challenges like this, your honesty on modelling times is essential. How you interpret the brief is up to you as long as the final model conforms to what is asked for.
2.Post a wire-frame and a render at 800x600 or larger. (For wireframe help go to: http://www.artssphere.com/plugins/polygoncoloring.php)
3.LightWave must be used for modelling. 3rd party Plug-ins are allowed.
4.You can enter as many times as you like, posting each in this thread. If you run over the time, the model can still be posted but won't be subject to the judging.
5.Time spent on texturing, setting up a scene for a render and rendering is not included in the allocated period.
6.The winner is judged by the challenge starter and the prize is to set up the challenge after next week's.

This week's topic: best part of your day
whether it's a cup of coffee or the highway sign on your way home from work. Make something that makes your day a little brighter.

timelimit: 120 min.
Deadline: Friday November 1st, 2013 22:00 CST

Nice render and model there. Where did you find textures for the biscuits? (Scanning food is usually not recommended.)

I finished my model early this morning but I need to texture it and
also learn/re-learn some dynamics in order to finish it. <--- always the biggest challenge for me.

Thanks Pantagrool. :)

I got the image from google images. A lot of the time I will quickly look there to find a texture I can use before I even start to model anything!

And the sugar crystals? Voxels?? :caffeine:

And the sugar crystals? Voxels?? :caffeine:

They are little instanced cubes. If you look real close at the centre of the coffee in the cup, you can just about make out the original cube. It's in the render and the wires.

Ah the Bourbon cream. A prince among biscuits!

Great render. Can we have an extension on this challenge? I actually might have some free time :)

10-31-2013, 07:55 PM
Yeah, I'd love a couple days extension, too ...

I'm all for it. How about till next Friday? Or Wednesday?

11-01-2013, 11:06 AM
Wednesday would put us back on the "usual" schedule. (which I, personally, kinda like)

Best part of my day?
I've got two.....
Turning it on
Turning it off

wires soon.

Polygon coloring didn't catch all the edges so I included a Modeler screen grab as well.

Whoa. Very cool JoePoe :)

Hello, folks. Can't believe I got to actually post something. Spent the last 45 minutes sneaking around work with my laptop to my chest, hiding the open windows of Modeler and Layout. That said, I was unable to furnish everyone with the official wires render so I just took a screen grab of Layout.

So -- here's my entry as Worst Father of the Year award -- I have twin 4-year-old boys and, well, it's like living in a circus wrapped up in a tornado. So the best part of my day is about 8:30 pm, when they finally go to bed!

PS: Thanks, Bullet!

Almost looks like you put the pile there to barricade them in!!
Or at least as an early warning system in case of a breakout... :D

Well done.
